  • Role of macrophage in allogeneic stem cell transplantation
Submitted by Satoshi Nishwiaki  (Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine, Department of Hematology and Oncology, Nagoya, Japan) 8/17/2010

We aim at examining the role of marophage in allogeneic stem cell transplantation. To deplete macrophages, we want to administer chlodronate liposome.

  • TSLP activates macrophages
Submitted by Han Hongwei  (Benaroya Research Institute, Seattle, WA, United States) 8/16/2010

TSLP is a Th2 cytokine and plays a role in allergic diseases. We found TSLP can activate macrophages which express TSLP specific receptor. We want to deplete macrophages to see if this will affect asthma development.

  • Study of various monocyte sub-populations
Submitted by Sweena Chaudhari  (Rudolf Virchow Zentrum, Wuerzburg, Bayern, Germany) 8/16/2010

Study of various monocyte sub-populations after depletion and re-population

  • Role of brain monocytes and macrophages in EAE pathogenesis
Submitted by Francesca Ronchi  (Institute for Research in Biomedicine, Bellinzona, Switzerland) 8/15/2010

We are studying the role of brain myeloid cells during different phases of EAE pathogenesis and we would like to test if the depletion of these cells by the use of chlodronate liposomes could affect the disease outcome. Francesca Ronchi and Federica Sallusto

  • Effects of Chemerin on Leukocytes
Submitted by Russell Pachynski  (PAIRE, Palo Alto, CA, United States) 8/13/2010

We are looking at a novel chemokine chemerin and its effects on leukocytes.

  • Hepatocyte transplantation
Submitted by Alexander Kleger  (Institute of Molecular Medicine and Max-Planck-Research Group on Stem Cell Aging , Ulm , Germany) 8/13/2010

We want to transplant hepatocytes into mice.

  • Role of Kupffer cells in liver carcinogenesis
Submitted by Yu Wei  (Institut Pasteur, Paris, France) 12/8/2010

We seek to understand the role of the liver resident macrophages, Kupffer cells, in the development of hepatocellular carcinoma in a mouse model.

  • the effect of microglia in the organotypic spinal cord slice culture on the fate of neural stem cells
Submitted by Xuqing Liu  (The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, Hong Kong) 12/8/2010

I want to use the clodronate liopsome to deplete the microglia in the organotypic spinal cord slice culture and study whether the effect of conditioned medium on the fate of neural stem cells will change.

  • CONTROL OF IMMUNE RESPONSES AGAINST TUMORS AND TUMOR INFILTRATION BY REGULATORY T CELLS.
Submitted by Günter J Hämmerling  (DKFZ, Heidelberg, Germany) 10/8/2010

We aim at examining the role of macrophages in the establishment of appropriate tumor milieu for tumor regression, vasculature normalization and increased T cell infiltration after high level of Treg depletion.
